Malatya
Malatya is a province of Turkey and the twenty-eighth most populous city. As of 2013, it has a population of 762,538. It is located in the Upper Euphrates Section of the Eastern Anatolia Region. It was first established during the Hittite period. Since then, it has changed hands, been demolished and rebuilt, and has survived to this day.[1] Malatya, known as the land of apricots. Apricots grown in the province are famous throughout the world, and 80% of the apricot production is provided by the apricot gardens located in the Malatya Plain.[2] It gained metropolitan status with the metropolitan law following the 2014 local elections.
