Elazig

Elazig province is located in the southwest of the Eastern Anatolia Region, in the Upper Euphrates Section. With a surface area of ​​9153 km², it constitutes 1.2% of Turkiye’s territory. The province lies between 40 0 21′ and 380 30′ eastern longitudes and 38 0 17′ and 39 0 11′ northern latitudes, Bingol from the east, Tunceli from the north (via Keban Dam Lake), Malatya from the west and southwest (via Karakaya Dam Lake). It is surrounded by the lands of Diyarbakir provinces from the south. The province consists of 11 districts, 537 villages and 709 hamlet settlements, including the central district.
